I am in a dilemma. My mechanics is weak. I have heard and seen that mechanics has too many chapters but its wightage is same as that of optics and modern physics combined. I want to give some less attention to it. My plan is to do rotation, work energy power and fluids strongly and leave other topics in mechanics like kinematics,NLM,solids etc.and instead give more attention to Electricity magnetism, optics, modern physics, heat thermodynamics. And yes, I am also thinking not to give much attention on waves and SHM? Am I right? Waiting for ur valuable advise.

Dude... If I were you, I could have never done this... In such a situation, if you are in lack of time, then try to complete the kinematics, optics, thermodynamics.. n all your favorite chapters perfectly & as fast as possible ... And see that you have time left to complete your mechanics too... Bcoz IITs hav all the rights to set the whole of the paper from mechanics only (though less probability) ... we cannot say anything about the importance of the chapters!!! A better advice would be: Dont waste your time asking such questions in forums, instead study mechanics !!!

I think you will have to give attention to waves atleast,it's an important topic.I would advice you not to leave anything, because if u leave something and a very easy question is asked from it,and u r not able to solve it,then this will largely affect ur rank! Best Of Luck!

You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.
When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity
Purpose of solving a problem is not simply to get the answer(the answer is only an evidence) but to develop your thinking ability |

Now the paper is not like you can solve just a few and hope to qualify as there arent those hard core subjective questions anymore. Pura course atleast pura to karna heen padega.

Thanx guys for your valuable advice. I will try to do my mechanics more strongly.
