SORRY I MADE A MISTAKE IN WRITING THE QUESTION

SHOULD BE CORRECTED TO
WHAT WILL BE THE SPEED WITH WHICH MASS M WILL HIT THE WALLWHEN THE MASS m IS RELEASED..
but most probably i think that the approach was followed for the corrected one.
Why all student are taking the distance as 2 m...as only one meter length wire is connected between M and wall..
So M will fall only 1 m down..
And if this is the question..then it is the general question man..
At height 1m M has potential energy Mgh = 2*9.8*1 = 19.6
and then it is converted into kinetic energy 1/2 * M * v^2 = v^2
and equate v = root(19.6)
i don't know what all are doing in this,.......Just one thing is new ...when m is relesed...nothing matter..it is realesed from rest..so M will also realesed from rest..
