got hold of another question paper. So here are the questions. I'll post the solutions late in the night tomorrow.
1. The current in a 40 ohm resistor increases linearly from 5A to 25A in 10s. How much heat is liberated in this time interval?
a)103kJ b) 107kJ c)130kJ d)111kJ
2. A dielectric of dielectric constant k fills the space between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor. If the positively charged plate has a charge density be  coulomb/m3, what is the charge induced on the surface of the dielectrc touching the plate?
3. A transverse wave y = Ysin2pi(ft - x/L), will have its maximum particle velocity four times its wave velocity, if _____________
4. A bullet of mass m is fired from a gun of mass M with a velocity v relative to the gun. a) The velocity of the gun is v / (m + M ) b) The velocity of the bullet is v M/(m + M) c) Ratio of KEs of bullet and gun is M/m
d) KEs of the bullet and gun are in the ratio M2/m2
5) What is the rate of change d /dt of the de broglie wavelength of a proton when is moving in the positive x direction with its PE changing as dU/dx? ________
6) Consider a cart of mass m in a horizontal surface, which is attached to a rigid vertical wall by means of a spring of spring constant k. If the wheels roll without slipping, frequency of oscillations (the mass of its wheels are negligible)
a) equal to sqrt(k/m) b) greater than sqrt(k/m) c) less than sqrt(k/m) d) none of these
I'll change the marking scheme to +10 for a right answer, and -7 for a wrong answer instead, to make things more interesting. So you have high chances of getting high marks if you answer sensibly. But remember, this also maximises the chances of your marks going below zero. So check your answers well. There is time till tomorrow.
