nice electrodynamics sum
Kinematics , NewtonsLawsCirMotion , Work Power Energy collisions , Rotation , Gravitation , Simple Harmonic Motion , Fluid Mechanics , Materials Wave Sound , Super Position , units dimensions , com momentum , shm , wave sound

 A 4f capacitor and 6f capacitor are connected in parallel across a 660 v prallel source. The charged capacitors are now disconnected from the line and from each other with terminals of unlike signs together.find the final charges on each and voltage across each other.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think the sum can be solved by gauss law

anyways give a suitable expln

first of all wrong thread:

as they r connected in ll initially, so initial charge on 4f cap = 660*4 C and on 6f cap = 660*6 C

Now when unlike plates are connected together i.e. positive of one wid negative of other,

Then try and draw the fig. ..

Now q1 + q2 = 2640 - 3960 = -1320 C .... (i)

Also, q1c1 = q2c2 (pd = const)

So, 4q1 = 6q2 OR 2q1 = 3q2. .... (ii)

Solving we get

q2 = -528 C and q1 = -792 C

mite be incorrect also..

wrong the answers are +5.28 and -7.92 i dont understant why gauss law isnt being used
