Assuming that the driver is always inside the car....and applying Doppler effect...the velocity of the driver and the horn is the same [obvious]...so the frequency that the driver hears remains the original frequency of the horn...while other cars[hence horns] are at different velocities wrt to the listener.[most of the cases]..so he hears a higher or a lower frequency...so he will be able to distinguish them...hope this clears the mystery of the similar horns...lol

what kiran said is obvious if the person is inside the moving car.........but what if the person is stationary outside the car and hearing its horn while the car is moving.....?! if he still manages to recognize it, then it has got do with the neurological perception of sound........(i never recognize my cars horn standing outside! they all sound same :P)

no, i dont think so...........thats what i was trying to say..., i cant think of a sensible argument in favour....but when hes in the moving

vehicle, ur explanation seems logical.......

ok ...now mr A drives the car....he moves through busy streets and he is able to distinguish his cars horn...now this is recorded in the cells of his brain...when he gets out of the car....assume mr invisble horns 4m his car...so his cells will recognise the distict horn and he will distinguish it 4m the other horns* [* effect lasts 4 only 15 mins 4 mr sanjay singhania]
