it will be parabolic only for small heights.it 'll not be parabolic if:
(a)change in value of g with height is taken into account(refer topic -GRAVITATION)
(b)it is thrown vertically upwards or downwards.

Perfect answer shikhar. Actually any particle in a constant force field with its initial velocity different from the direction of that constant force will have parabolic trajectory.
So two important things are:
Force is constant
Initial velocity is not in the direction (or opposite) to force
