please draw the a-t graph oh an ball thrown upwards and returns to ground.......

its just convention to assign positive and negative directions to the velocities or accelerations or displacements in a problem to mention signs in a formula in a particular vproblem
if in a problem you've considered that all the vectors pointing downwards are positive .......and got the answer..............and did the same problem assuming downwards negative you will get same answer with different sign (i mean opp.).....................but you cannot and shouldnot change the sign convention in the middle of the problem..........
here in the above question we,ve considered downwards positive and did the graph..........this sign convention applies to the problem from the time the ball starts at the ground and till it returns to the ground............................if you've assumed downwards negative you wd get the st. line in the 4th quadrant ................
i just mean to say that confirm your sign convention till the end of your problem...................aaaaaaaaaaaaannnnd in this question if we dont consider any sign convention .....its universal truth that acceleration due to gravity is always downwards and is always positive ........and thus i drew it lik that
