a system shown in fig, blocks 2&3 kg are at rest.coefficient of friction getween 2 kg & incline is (a)2/?3 (b)1/2 (c)1/3 (d)can't be calculated ANSWER IS (d)can't be calculated WHY??????? -------------------------------------------------------------- my answer was after resolving & equating x & y components along the plane, we have f + T = mg sin30 FF m = 2/?3 i.e.(a)

Example is better than Precept..... |

hi
the answer is definetely cant be calculated bcoz at that point might there is even lessser frictional force than the max frictional force .
if it was mentioned that even with a light impulse under this condition would move the blocks then probably u resove all the forces and get the answer .i hope im clear . any doubts please ask

Dear It can certainly be calculated but you can't calculate coefficient of static friction but coefficient of friction in the given situation T=m'g =m'g -mgsin theta /m
