hi if anybody has new dcpandey then please give me the solution of introductory exercise 5.5 specially the first and the last question.

A block is placed on an inclined plane as shown in figure. What must be the frictional force between the block and incline if the block is not to slide along the incline when the incline is acclerating to the right at 3 m/s^2

a = accelerations
N= normal reaction

balancing forces both parallel and perpendicular to the plane we get--

N = mg cos@

mg sin@ = uN + ma cos@ = u mg cos@ + ma cos@

10 * 3/5= u*10*4/5 + 3* 4/5

18/5 = 8 u

u = 9/20

frictional force =

u mg cos 37 = 9/20 * mg * 4/5 = 9/25 mg
