A particle in SHM has displacement of 0, 5 cm, 5cm at time 0, 1 s, 2 s resp.What is the amplitude????????

since disp is same at 1 and 2 sec...particle will return to mean at t = 3 sec ...then period is 6 sec ...w = 2pie / 6 = pie/3....x = A sin ( pie/3)t...put x=5 at t=1....and get amplitude = 10/root3.........please rate if useful

let eqxn be of form AsinWt ......................AsinW = Asin2W  ............(AS 5=5...lol)

 

sinW =2sinWcosW ..........................cosW = 1/2 .........................W=pi/3 ..................................

5=Asin(pi/3)

5=A(3)1/2/2 ........................A= 10/(3)1/2

x=AsinWt........ 5=AsinW....5=Asin2W......DIVIDING,  sinW=sin2W.......so 2cosW sinW = sinW.....so cosW=1/2........
