We can also do it like this
a=kx
v*dv/dx=kx
So,v*dv=kx*dx
Integrating,
v2/2=kx2/2+c
Thus,v2=kx2+c
If its given that particle starts at rest,then c=0 and thus,KE=0.5mv2=0.5m(kx2)
