ok im in the 10th so u ppl might find this doubt a little silly
but here the question goes:
a man is standing on top of a tower and he throws a stone vertically.now its for u to decide whether he must throw it upwards or downwards at whatever speed u want.but u must choose the speed and direction in sucha manner that u have to find the minimum distance travelled by the stone in 1 second.u can take this 1 second anywhere in the journey of the stone after the man releases the stone from his hand

I think upwards..cos..it is the decelerated motion..n so the distance in any instant will b less.......
