let the total height of container of be h so for h1 height Ux = (2gh1)^1/2 Sy = h-h1 , Uy = 0 h-h1 = 1/2g.t^2 Sx = range = (2gh1)^1/2 . (2(h-h1)/g)^1/2 = 2 (h1(h-h1))^1/2 similarily for h2 Sx = 2(h2(h-h2))^1/2 as range (or Sx) is equal so h1(h-h1) = h2(h-h2) which gives h = (h1)^2 - (h2)^2 h1-h2 h = h1+h2 now for max range orrifice should be situated at h/2 = h1+h2 2 ANS.
