be more specific.....

Heights by great men reached and kept,
were not attained in a sudden flight
but, they, while their companions slept
were toiling upwards in the night.

angular velocity will not change because the normal rxn. due to wall acts through the center.....so its velocity is just reversed(if the collision is elastic)

so there is kinetic friction in a direction which will be decided by the values of speed and angular velocity...

u mean if a ball is rolling clockwise if it gets banged with d wall...the ball starts rotating anticlocwise?

if there is 0 fricton....along the wall ....no torque (by frict) by d wall what now should i consider...

friction of wall wl not b considered as there is no motion in y direction..only x(horizntl.)

the impulse of d wall will change the velocity nd then the frictino of the ground will cause it to rotate...

ya well but when the ball strikes the wall visualize that moment...arrent u able 2 make out that friction is along the wallis in upwards dir if the rolling ball (if moving in clockwise dir....)
please yaar draw few of d diagrams,...

for rolling motion to initiate, a frictional surface is required. but after that it can continue rollling onto a frictionless surface, provided it is horizontal

as we are talkin about a perfectly elastic collision, it just touches the wall at one point with an impulse and turns back in the opp. direction, the friction of wall doesnt matter here.

I wrote about the case when the wall is frictionless....
i.e. no torque because N passes through center....

and rolling is possible on a frictionless surface....
u place a rolling ball gently on frictionless floor..then it will just stay there and roll ....with slipping on ground....

but if u give it some initial velocity....and v=wr...then it will roll WITHOUT slipping....
