A person standing between two parallel hills fires a gun. He hears the first echo after 1.5 seconds and the second echo after 2.5 seconds. If the speed of sound in air is 332 m/s, calculate the distance between the hills. When will he hear the next echo?

He will hear first echo due to reflection of sound from one hill and second due to other.
In 1.5 s the sound travels 2*distance between the person and one hill.
So distance between that hill and the person x=1.5*332/2=249m
Similarly distance between another hill and the person y=415m So distance between hills=x+y=664m
He will hear next echo after 3s from the beginning due to reflection of sound from 1st hill.
