for every matter there is antimatter. the energy and mass of the universe is conserved, ie. total is zero. so a concept arises termed as antimatter, which when added to a corresponding matter particle vanishes into nothingness. this concept was used to adhere to the zero energy and mass of the universe. conservation of mass n energy.
*PLZ RATE* thnks

For Electron , there exists another particle called Positron , which is exactly same as electron in all respects i,e, mass etc but with the difference that the charge of Positron is exactly equal and opposite to electron. If and electron and positron ever comes together they annihilate with liberation of energy. Positron is called anti-particle of electron.

anti matter is a complex concept.. jus try to remember that when matter and anti matter combine, zero is left.

u said " positron is not anti particle " . Then what is the anti-particle of electron ?

positron comes under some chapters of study in nuclear physics and chemistry. anti matter however is much more complex stuff, i myself, do not know what it is called ( anti of electron)

positron is the same mass as electron but opp. charge. so the effective charge per mass gets cancelled but not the mass... there is even something as negative mass or the like, in the concept... lets not go into details. ita a very vague topic/

What is anti-matter?
A particle that has all properties of matter reversed (charge etc.) except mass is called anti-matter of that particle.
In that case i think positron is an anti-particle of electron (Even our textbooks say that)

according to me positron is the anti particle of electron such anti particles are being created in the labs but their life is very short (maybe when created arificially)
