because friction is less on ice so....so to make the full use of available friction use small steps.

As th angl of ur leg and surface increased...verticl c0mp0nent of f0rc on gr0und due to leg(body weight) increases. .thus n0rmal force increases whch increases frinctn inspite of smal value of c0eficient of frictn
