.Why the saturation current is independent of anode potential?

it is independant if the intensity is constant.for more details check out NCERT 12th.photoelectric effect.

The current in the photocell flows because of the photoelectric phenomenon, but not due to the potential difference between cathode and anode.

Hi,

Current becomes saturated when all the electrons on the surface of the electrode plate are ejected so as to reach the other electrode. So, if you change the potential of the electrode, you need to change the incident intensity so as so make the current saturated. Eg : If you increase the anode potential, you need to increase the intensity.

Hope you got it !!!!

Dear Mr. aditya_arora04,
It is never possible to remove all the electrons from the surface of a material. Therefore it is not the reason for saturation current. It is the intensity which decides the no. of electrons to be emmitted. Keeping the electrode potential constant you can get more current if the intensity is changed.

it wont b if d level of potential difference is increased for emitted electrons as current to match d energy of d light waves or fast fields

d distance between a standard electronic or protonic charge n nucleus is really less. d convention of choosing d basic unit of charge is wierd
