ATOMIC PHYSICS FORMULAE:

Atomic Physics is one of the easiest Chapters of JEE syllabus. So, XI std students, make thorough these formulae. Written after the request of Ishan.Maheswari.

1) De Broglie's Eqn.: (Wave particle duality)

= h/mv

2)Plank's eqn.

E= h

=hc/

3)Bohr's Conditions:

i)mvr=nh/2

ii)E₂-E₁=h

4) Radius of nth orbit:

r_n= n²* 0.53 *10 ^{-10 m}

5) Energy of nth orbit:

E_n= -13.6/n² eV 1eV= 1.6 * 10 ^-19 J

6)Frequency of Spectral lines:

^-1=R [n₁ ^-2-n₂ ^-2] R=Rydberg's Constant = 1.094 * 10 ^-7 m^-1

For Lyman, Balmer, Paschen, Brackett, Pfund Series, n₁= 1,2,3,4,5. n₂>n₁

7) Photo-electric Effect:

_o+ mv²/2 ,where, h

_o= W =Work function.

_o= Threshold (min.)freq.

This is absolutely for XI std students' benefit. Though I like to be rated, for me it is others before self.

Well a good stuff....a tuff one....u must also have added ....
p = E / c
it is the base of these formulae...and we haven't any proof for it..at our level.....( refer D.C Pandey ) Modern Physics....

Radiation Pressure ...it also have two-three formulae regarding that....
Well i don't know XI syllabus...P-rad might not be present in that chapter.....

It is very simple how u got p=E/c. ...............(1)

By De Broglie's equation,

= h/mv.= h/p

p = h/

........(2)

From Plank's eqn., E=hc/

which implies,

=hc/E .....(3)

Substituing (3) in (2), we get p=E/c.

Friend that's not the thing....actually u r doing reverse process....formulae used by u have originated from p = E/c ...u can't prove a thing like this...
..it's just like u r getting e/m ratio by dividing isolated e & m....& not by the thompson's way.....
