in the nucleus, a proton may decompose to a neutron, a beta + particle and a neutrino, or a neutron may decompose to give a proton, a beta - particle, and an antineutrino

 emission is described as the ejection of an electron from the nucleous ,but electron can not exists in the nucleous . it is believed that electrons are produced as a result of a decay of neutrons according to the sequence.
neutron---->proton + electron + neutrino
