Some people consider time as the fourth dimension.

Some scientist believe that there are 10 dimensions.

Point is zero dimensional. Line is one dimensional. Intersecting lines will exist in three dimensions. So plane is third dimension.
Note that you can curl the plane in third dimension.

Einstein said that time is fourth dimension. According to him, you have been travelling on this fourth dimension since your birth. so your time line is actually running from the time wheh you were an embryo to your death. So it is almost like a line.

You can have multiple time scales in which you will behave differently. That is this time scale, you are reading this post. In some other time scale you may be doing sumthin else.

These time scales intersect only if there was some fifth dimension..
The intersection of these scales are the events which will be common to them.

Now when you curl your time scale (you can't see this coz we are 4 dimensional creatures) you get sixth dimension.

This goes on upto tenth dimension after which it stops because it covers all possiblitites for all possible universes.

For more details visit:

www.tenthdimension.com

Its a site developed by the author of the book 'Imagining the tenth dimension'

Also see the videos. That would explain clearly what i meant in my previos post..

well, string theories predict a 10 dimensional universe but to explain the basic reason for how 'strings' are formed, a mysterious M-theory has been proposed which predicts a universe having 11 dimensions and thus proving that the 5 string theories originally proposed were different forms of the same basic theory.

These all extra dimensions ( more than four) are just approximations. These r not at all aprroved by all nor they have tough experimental evidences. There are many mysteries in science, one out these is this.
Yeh sab is dimag ki kartut hai !!!
Cheers!
