If V wave velocity of a longitutudinal wave in a gaseous medium , then show that V = Square root ( 1/3 Vrms),  Vrms rms velocity

V= sqrt(gamma*RT/M) and Crms = sqrt(3RT/M). So the correct expression is V = sqrt(gamma/3)*Vrms where gamma is Cp/Cv.
