This formula was derived giving the relation between mass and Energy of a photon

But, wherefrom Einstein came to know that it is not only applicable for photons but for any kind of mass

i never knew that this formula was derived for a photon as its mass is assumed to be 0

Photon doesnot has rest mass but relativistic mass
