If V wave velocity of a longitutudinal wave in a gaseous medium , then show that V = Square root ( 1/3 Vrms),  Vrms rms velocity

Vrms =sqrt(3RT/M) and wave velocity = sqrt(gamma*RT/M) so your expression is wrong. The right expression is v = sqrt(gamma/3)*Vrms
