Basically, if you're made of mass, then the closer you approach light speed the more energy you'll need to accelerate the mass.
light has no mass. Thusly can travel the speed of light = C with considerably less energy
if you achieve C and do have mass, it will increase as well, to an infinite amount.....and you will need an INFINITE amount of energy the exact moment in time that you hit the speed C and all the time you continue that speed.
it is impossible to achieve that amount of energy as far we know nor possible to survive becoming infinite mass.
there are ideas about how we can bypass traveling through space as we know it and cross long distances, but we're not actually MOVING faster than light, just OUTSIDE the laws of physics and space that we know of.
but they are only theories and ideas, and none have been proved yet.
