BMC school students score with IIT institute training

Praveen Tyagi, director of a Mumbai-based IIT coaching institute, took the initiative last year to help students in municipal schools be better prepared for their HSC exams besides various entrance exams like IIT, SAT etc. The first batch, comprising 80 students from two different colleges, has achieved a 100% result in the HSC exam announced on Friday.The highest scorer from the group was Vijay Ashok Bhanhe with 90.33% followed by Shwaraj Patel with 87.16%. "I have never been happier. My parents are so proud of me. Praveen Sir has been very kind to us and I am glad I could make him proud," said Shwaraj.

Praveen, himself a BTech from IIT-Delhi, is the son of a farmer from a small village called Morta near Ghaziabad. "I myself have experienced the hardships of getting the right education. This is the reason why I decided to coach students who are not financially strong so that they too can go ahead and do something with their lives," he said.Ten from the batch passed with distinction whereas most passed with a first class. The students were mostly from colleges like Bhavani Shankar Road Junior Science College, Dadar, and Ratanbai Walbai Junior Science College, Mulund. Each of these students came from backgrounds where education is limited to schooling and very few make it beyond Class X. Praveen urged parents to send their children to him for free coaching.
