Comed-K answer sheets stolen

Engineering Entrance , JEE Main

This time it is not question papers that have gone missing, but answer sheets.

About nine ‘blank’ OMR (optical mark recognition) bundles meant to be used by students during the entrance test for undergraduate professional courses to be conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) for 2012-13 have gone missing.

But an undeterred COMED-K has said it will go ahead with its exam plans. The test will be held on May 6.

About the missing OMR bundles, COMED-K executive secretary AS Srikanth said, “We’ve announced the serial numbers of the missing OMR sheets and if any students write the test in those, we’ll not announce the results.”

According to COMED-K officials, the OMR sheets might have being lost while being shifted from the printing press. “We’ve announced those OMR sheets as invalid and if anyone uses those, the system itself rejects the OMR sheets,” said Srikanth.

Candidates selected after the exam will be eligible to get seats in 12 medical, 25 dental and 154 engineering colleges in the state.
