Engineering Entrance
,
JEE Main
There were some familiar faces and a few new ones on the list of top 10 rank-holders in the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K).
Deepa M, who topped the II PUC examination (Science stream) as well as the Common Entrance Test (CET), added yet another feather to her cap as she stood first in the Comed-K exam (Engineering), too.
Although Comed-K was not her first choice, she took the test as its syllabus was similar to CET’s.
Happy with the Comed-K result, she said that she would rather opt a seat at the R V College of Engineering, Bangalore, through CET.
Vivek B S, ranked second, is also happy about his performance. He said that he studied about six hours every day for the exam.
He, however, wants to get into IIT Madras.
Comed-K was not the choice for Haren Saga, rank 3, either. “I just attempted the Comed-K test for the sake of it,” Saga said. He plans to study at IIT Bombay.
Shreyas Udupa, rank 4, plans to make a career in Electronics or Computer Science. He is aiming at NIT, Surathkal as he has also taken the All India Engineering Exam. Archana Sasi topped the medical/dental stream in the Comed-K exam.
Keerthana Haridas, rank two, says studying patterns vary from person to person. He studied daily and focused on getting the concepts right. He plans to get into Christian Medical College, Vellore.
Pritesh Kumar N, rank 5, says he paid more attention to CET. He plans to study at the Mysore Institute of Medical Sciences. Poonam Ashok Kamath, rank 6, studied more for the CET, putting in at least six hours everyday.
