EAMCET-2012 for admission into State-level Engineering, Agricultural and Medical courses would be conducted on May 12 this year and all applications should be filled online, JNTU authorities designated for conducting the exam announced here on Wednesday. The test would be conducted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for engineering stream and from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. for agriculture and medicine streams.
Notification for the entrance test would appear on February 10 and the website www.apeamcet.org would be enabled for filling in of application forms from February 12 onwards, Convener of EAMCET N.V. Ramana Rao told a press conference here after the EAMCET committee meeting. In all, over 4.25 lakh students were expected to take the test this year, against the 3.5 lakh students last year, he said.
Aspirants can pay the registration fee either through debit or credit cards or through AP Online, eSeva, Mee Seva, or Post Office centres. Hall tickets can be downloaded from the site from April 26. March 30 is the last date for application without fine.
One technical improvement over the last year's procedure is that the candidates will not need to upload their photographs.
They will be automatically taken from the Intermediate or Polytechnic data upon entering the qualifying exam's hall ticket number.
For this, Intermediate and Polytechnic data since 2004 has been collated and kept ready, said Prof. Rao. However, those applying from outside the State will need to upload the photos from their own systems.
Two more regional centres, which will also serve as help centres, have been added from this year, at Amalapuram and Siddipet respectively.
