HC seeks last 3 years' results of entrance

Engineering Entrance , JEE Main

The Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the State to produce the results of the engineering entrance examinations conducted in the last three years by various universities in the state.

The court asked the state to submit the college-wise and course-wise results from 2008 to 2011, on or before March 28.The data should be collected from the respective controllers of examinations of the universities.

A division bench comprising Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair and Justice Babu Mathew P.Joseph issued the directive on a petition filed by Mr T.N. Sathyanesan, former principal, Calicut University Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The petitioner argued that commercialisation of the engineering education had affected the quality of the course.

The students were admitted in self-financing and other engineering colleges without testing their calibre and areas of interest.

The statutory bodies are not paying any attention to improve the quality of education. So merit suffers in the bargain.

He also contended that the All India Council for Technical Education was not performing its duty satisfactorily.
