HSC results: Prolonged admissions to delay term
Mumbai colleges are gearing up for admissions, but the official admission schedule given by the Mumbai University stretches the admission process over a month. According to the official admission schedule declared by the university, colleges can start the sale of admission forms from Monday, and they can put up their first merit list on June 20 and the final merit list on June 29.
Colleges will be able to start with their first year degree classes only by mid July."There should not be too much gap between uploading the merit lists," said a principal of a college in Vile Parle, on the condition of anonymity. Some principals argued that like the junior college admission process, the varsity should transform the degree college admissions into online process as well.A senior official from the university said, "They get many students in the first two lists and start classes. The admission procedure is drawn out to give ample time for colleges and students to process their documents.”
