NSIT is a peaceful autonomus government college under the University of Delhi with great rankings due to superb placemets(ranked No. 2 among all government colleges in India by Dataquest).It is peaceful in the terms that it has always remained away from controversies and media hype.It has one of the highest students per selection ration in CAT ,and has regularly produced 100 percenters in GRE and SAT.It has some great faculty known worlwide for its contribution(like Prof. Raj Senani and Sir Gadre).And the students here are really goal oriented.It has some really great alumni.
But the colleges has a few drawbacks too.First of all It has not mucgh media hype.Secondly senior-junior interaction is not too good as the seniors are goal-oriented people who walk in a straight line not looking here or there.
Cmng to DTU,it was also under the University of Delhi(a central university) as the erstwhile Delh College of Engineering,but now it was changed to DTU,a state university under the Delhi government.That's why it had massive protests in the recent days.There was a feud among the administration and the students over the alleged degradation of the college to a state university.The students said that the colleged had earned a great name in the last 50 years which was marred in a couple of months.The students said that they had difficulties in applying to foreign universitites who did not recognized DTU,although previously they faced no difficulties when the college was under the Delhi University which all know to be a prestigious university.Last semester the whole of semester was wasted in protests,but no conclusion came out and authorities were not moved.The second issue as the proped increase in intake from 670 to 3000 in coming years.Its well known that the institute won't have the capacity to hold so many seats.
Both of them are good colleges(though DTU can't be technically called a college now).......I am a current NSIT student and DTU is just a few steps away from my home while NSIT takes 2 hrs frm my home......the thing for which I envy DTU is the large cafetaria they have......We really miss a thing like that.........For rest all things I am sure that they wud not be better at DCEDTU.....
