well SCRA is 100 times difficult than IIT-JEE. There are merely 26 seats for GE and after separating those who are the sons/daughter of ministers I suppose there are not more than 20 seats for General.
You have to give exams with people who are 4 years older than you. Age criteria 17-21 years. You have to crack
1 : physics ,chemistry , GENRAL KNOWLEDGE , Mental Ability, maths........interview and medical.
2 : in General Knowledge they ask qs like " when and between whom was the treaty of Aixle-Chapelle signed " . " vegetation of Canda " etc.
i mean full GK of all all classes which has been long forgotten by most of us except those who started preparing for SCRA since KG or nursery or even infancy.
20 seats mean 2 qs wrong and baahar ka rasta napo.
Now tell me what to do before my father arrives with 20 books on SCRA ..there is no point in my giving the exam since I never read any book on GK and all I know is P,C and Maths and little bit Logic.
Is there any scope..........

@bladex if you getting in an iit with a good branch than why to try for scra.
but i would like to say that being an scra is only second to getting a degree from iit in a good branch.
well talking about scope of being an scra you become a first class officer which commands great respect .its only second to being an ias.
scra niether has to pay any fees for enginnering rather he gets stipends of about 8k pm during engineering.
but its not for those who are aiming of going abroad
there are only 8-9 seats this year....but whatz the harm in trying.....dont ever loose hope....itz like accepting the defeate even before getting a chance to win. If u dont know the GK part...hope most of them dont know it na...waise bhi ..who prepares for scra from KG??lolz good at maths, physics and chem??itz fantastic coz those 4 years older than y did not prepare for iit and might not b as gud as u...then y to worry//be happy. as far as tuf ques. of gk ar concerned, there are 4-5 tuf questions in every exams , and those are the ones which are flaunted every where....so try try but never cry.all da best
@sciencecrazzy to correct u there are 44 vacanciess this year of which 22 are for general .
scra get mechanical engeneering degree from Indian Railways Institute Of Mechanical And Electrical Engineering jamalpur and workshops are held in bit mesra ranchi.
believe in yourself say what if there are only 20 seat one seat will be mine these xams test ur confidence if u have confidence and determination and no fear u can get!!!!!!!!!!!! darr k aage jeet hai!! work harder go through previous year paper and read the summary of 8 9 10 sst ncert +read newspaper regularly! no matter what the no. of seat ! say one seat will be mine!!
