Hi Shaheena.. I actually am not much aware of HBTI, but I would like to tell you some *facts* about VIT. Firstly, If you've got a decent branch in VIT Mech, EEE, IT/CSE, ECE, be assured of your placements. Ofcourse you may be disappointed by some of the faculties here, and it may be most of the times you have to remain self-motivated and work hard yourselves, but surely you'll have opportunities from here. If well prepared, you can get into top guns like Google, Microsoft, Intel, Amazon etc (similar for other branches non-CS). VIT will keep providing you with lots and lots of opportunities, it should be you who have to be prepared for them. I am a passout and am working in Amazon, a campus offer of 9L. So I know it better. (I am here because of my younger brother who also is seeking admission this year). So if you have it in you, I would recommend any good college, which provides you good opportunites and VIT is surely one of them.
Here's something you may appreciate:
The Good:
1) The library, the campus, infrastructure, something extraordinary you won't get everywhere
2) Placement statistics (pretty good, not something to worry much about)
The Bad:
1) The faculties (few of them, in fact I got really good ones, depends)
The Ugly:
1) The crowd, queue for almost everything.. you can imagine 2400 students/year * 4 + non-Btech strength.
Hope I've been able to help.
Regards,
Bill ;)
