CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI) B.Tech Admission Notice 2012

Applications are invited for admission to CECRI’s B.Tech programme for other state quota for the academic year 2012-13 based on valid AIEEE score

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has sanctioned 40 seats for the B.Tech programme in Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering offered at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI).

Out of these 40 seats, 35 seats are for Tamil Nadu State candidates and these 35 seats are filled through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2012 (TNEA - 2012).

The remaining 5 seats are reserved for other state candidates.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicant should be a citizen of India.

The minimum academic requirement is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent recognized by any State Board / Central Board or any other board accepted by Anna University, Chennai.

The candidates must have taken Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Minimum Eligibility Marks:
50.00 % for General & OBC; 35.00 % for SC

Mode of Selection: The selection of candidates will be on the basis of scores obtained in AIEEE 2012

Allocation of Seats: SC – (1), OBC – (1), OTHERS – (3)

The allotment for SC: ST will be in the ratio 2:1

Applications should be submitted to Dean(Administration), Centre For Education, CECRI, Karaikudi – 630006, Tamil Nadu along with a Demand draft from any nationalized bank for `200/- (SC/ST `100/-) drawn in favour of Director, CECRI, payable at Karaikudi on or before 13th July, 2012

The candidates should attach the attested xerox copies of the following documents along with application. The candidates should also send a self addressed cover of size 26.5 cm x 11.5 cm.

AIEEE score card; 10th & 12th marksheet; Community Certificate

Counselling Procedure: Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit.

Based on the merit and communal reservation allotment will be made.

The counselling call letter will be sent in the self addressed cover enclosed by the candidate.

The dates of the counselling will be tentatively in the 1st week of August 2012

Note: Candidates have to produce all their original certificates during counselling.

If a candidate has deposited all the certificates in an Institution where he/she has already been admitted, a letter from the Head of the Institution should be produced to that effect.

In such cases only, photocopies of certificates attested only by the head of the institution will be accepted for verification.

The provisional allotment order will be withheld and it will be released only on production of all the original certificates.

Candidates selected for the programme will be required to join the course immediately after finishing all necessary formalities.
