why lloyd's mirror experiment takes place and what is that....???

it is the exp. on interference, in this case two coherent sources are produced by plane mirror with the help of real source. this introduce an additional path difference of 90 degree

Lloyd's mirror is used to produce two coherent sources from one source. These two sources then can produce interference pattern.
