What will happen if white light is used instead of monochromatic light...in YDSE.....?

i know there will be colored fringes...but wats the correct nature????

There will be coloured fringes of all the wavelengths. It will be something like what you see from interference by a soap bubble. As red has the highest wavelength, the fringes that are coloured red will be at the maximum separation and those coloured blue will be at minimum separation. Further the decrease in intensity with increasing order will be maximum for red light and minimum for blue light.

If white light is used  in place of a monochromatic light then coloured fringes are obtained,

on the screen with red fringes of larger size than voilet ,becoz  wavelength(red )> wavelength(voilet).

 

BUT note that centre is still WHITE becoz path difference is 0 for all colours.
