why pentyne,hexyne r more strained,unstable than heptyne&other higher alkynes?

Which pentyne/hexyne u r reffering ? because it may be 1-,2- or 3-. or do u mean cyclopentyne or cyclohexyne. In case of cyclo both these compounds are strained due to 3 and 4 carbon atoms respectively in sp3 state and two in sp. as we go to higher compounds the number of carbon atoms in sp3 would increase which will decrease the strain. compounds with (CH2)6-10 C C have been synthesised.
