The answer you are saying is correct acc. to FIITJEE and Narayana solution. But this is the solution of VMC,Mr. Nastier. Try to go through it and review it accordingly.

The first structure in the answer seems ok. Draw it vertically, use mirror method and it will be clear....

This will be the vertical structure... Now if we will try to alter the configuration of elements of chrial center(s), then it will be no more cis/trans.
