the carbonyl group will be reduced to CH2 also the nitro group will be reduced to -NH2 ...it is because in presence of metal and HCl, nitro groups are reduced to amine group

thanks dude..... i had confusion as to how NO2 gp was reduced to NH2 gp.

Clemmensen reduction is carried out with Zn-Hg and HCl. Carbonyl group ( C=O) is reduced to CH2.Nitro groups are also reduced by metal and acid to NH2. Thus in the given compound CO would be reduced to CH2 and also NO2 to NH2.
