React nitro-benzen with Sn/Hcl then form Aniline which react whith NaNo2 in pressence of Hcl form C6H5-N2^(+)cl(-) then react C2H5OH with water and now form phenol.

add propylene to benzene to get cumene... then oxidise cumene forming cumene peroxide which on heating gives you PHENOL and ACETONE...

is this method sufficiently easy???

I got some rather weak phenol from the ol benzene method. (viz: Phenol VIA Benzene 1. Benzene to "Sufo.-benzene-" do HEAT benzene first THEN add some con H2SO4. But not too much H2SO4 It will REVERSE "sulfonizing" 2."Sulfo-benzene" to sodium pheoxide | Do this in tiny? paint can of molten SOD. HYDROX added to LARGE paint can with a little of sulfoben. BUT LOOK OUT! It is GONNA SPATTER! ware long thick slieves and thick gloves etc...-YET WORKS :o) 3. sod-.phenox. acidfication is done via a LITTLE dilute sulferic acid to Sodphenox. and stir The thick stuff SOULD crystalize Phenol P! I say all this in luie of ...cont...

Treat nitrobbenzene eith Sn-HCl.. u will get Aniline.. then treat it with HNO2 to get benzene diazonium chloride. then heat it with H3PO4. you will get benzene. then treat benzene with sulphuric acid. u will get benzene sulphonic acid. then treat it with NaOH. u will get phenol.
