1st = ethanoic acid ----( LiAlH4 or H2/Pt) ----> ethanol

2nd = mthanal -----( CH3MgBr)-----> CH3CH2OMgBr-----H+/H2o ------> CH3CH2OH

3rd = methanal ------PhMgBr--------> Ph-CH2OMgBr ---- acidulated water----> benzylic alcohol

4th = ethanal -------CH3MgBr-----> CH3-CH(OMgBr)-CH3 ----acidulated water ----> propan-2-ol..

5th = But-2-ene -----H+/H2O, Acid catalysed hydration of alkene ----> butan-2-ol..

6th = ethyl iodide -----( sodium ethoxide)----> diethyl ether ( williamson synthesis)

7th = ethene ---( baeyer's reagent i.e cold dilute 1% KMnO4) ----> ethane-1,2-diol

8th = CH3CH2MgCl------(methanal)--------> CH3CH2CH2OMgCl ----(acidulated water----> CH3CH2CH2OH or propan-1-ol..
