cinnamaldehyde is C6H5CH=CH-CHO ....... yes it has alpha hydrogen.........
oxidise it using KMnO4 .  you will get cinnamic acid(C6H5CH=CH-COOH)

ramkumar.....we cannot use KMnO4 as it introduces diol at the double bond......chromic acid oxidation will work....
