how do we come to know the order of nucleophilicity among givem comp????

eg...

 

CH3 - , NH2 - , OH - , F - ????

Among the given compunds CH3- will be strongest base ........and hence strongest nucleophil;e

here is the order .....nucleophile must be best electron donor..CH3->NH2->OH->F-

Yes,

nucleophilicity = edonation

 
so it decreases with increasing electronegativity ...

nd here theyre all elements of same row, nd u knoe F is most electro-ve,

so above order perfect !

BEST ELECTRON DONOR AS WELL AS STRONGER BASE AND ALSO STERIC EFFECT NEED TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT
