plz frnds help me,i have problems in such a type of Qs, like-- Give a test to distinguish between compound A n Compound B Freinds plz post if any such distinguishing tests u hav studied in ur org chem

If you want to distinguish between primary,secondary and tertiary amines,then you can use Hinsberg reagent(C6H5SO2Cl)

hey i have some here aniline and phenol( neutral FeCL3) benzoic acid and phenol(same as above but one challenge think of another distinguishing test) amines and nitro alkanes(think??) aldehydes and ketones(specially see nitropruside test) alcohol and ether (acidic nature???) benzaldehyde and acetophenone aspirin and oil of mirbane try them out!!!!

n among aldehydes n ketones , most important are tollens, fehlings n benedicts also in some cases (methyl ketones) iodoform is important

well dere r many such test dear depends on compounds u have fehling , tollen, idoform , fecl3 n all u need to leanr dear nothing as such

hey i thought this could be useful but i am not sure sodium nitropruside is used to distinguish between aldehydes and ketones this is an imp colour test aldehydes give red colour ketones give blue colour am i right??
