in sp3 hybridization one s and three p orbitals hybrides.if we take methyn there is sp3 hybri.in it in carban it has one unpair elecrone in s orbital which attached with three elecrones of p orbital and makes four same staringh sp3 bonds.

A phenomenon of mixing of two or more atomic orbitals of approx equal energy of an atom to form an equal number of new orbitals which have equal energy, identical shape and size, and are symmetrically oriented in space is known as hybridization and the new orbitals formed are called hybrid orbitals. sp3 or tetrahedral hybridization : one s and three p orbitals combine to form four equivalent hybrid orbitals directed towards the corners of a regular tetrahedron. All saturated compounds of carbon involve sp3-hybrid orbitals. sp2 or trigonal hybridization : one s and two p orbitals combine to form three equivalent sp2-hybrid orbitals while the third 2-p orbital remains unhybridized. The three sp2-hybrid orbitals are directed towards the three corners of an equilateral triangle, hence called trigonal hybridization. The un-hybridized p- orbital is perpendicular to the plane containing sp2-hybrid orbitals. All compounds of carbon which contain C=C involve sp2-hybrid orbitals.
