1.)first of all you've got to understand that these are all involved with electron displacement...............so depending upon the type of electron displacement the effects come into play.........at no point 1effect overpowers the other.......... but for some cases a carbon chain may show a combination of 2 effects...........
for instance , a carbonyl group getting attached to a cyanide grp.......... shows predominantly -E effect but to define the overall properties we do also mention +I effect since cyanide gives away its electrons to the carbonyl grp acco to induction.............
thus , dont get conused with these effects.........the qs asked will prompt predominantly only 1 of these effect as the answer depending upon the type of electron displacement
2>)orto effect is a method to define strength of acidity in benzoic acids............every benzoic acid which is orto substituted are stronger acids than benzoic acid...........irrespective of the nature of the substitutent (e- donating or withdrawing)..
steric inhibition effect also called steric hindrance effect is when a particular group in a molecule shows less reactivity due to a rigid geometry preventing attack of other reactants.......and hence inhibiting further reaction...............
ex - a tert comound will show less reactivity than a neo or an iso compound....

Q1- Hyperconjugation>Resonance>Inductive Always use these effects in these priorities. U will always get correct answers.
