claisen schimdt reaction is a rection between a carbonyl compound and hydrazoic acid in presence of a strong acid conc h2so4 .aldehydes give a mixture of cyanide and formyl derivatives of primary amines ,where as ketones give amides..aldol condensation is a rection of alpha hydrogen compound with dilute koh followed by removal of water to give a alpha beta unsaturated carbonyl compoundrate me plzzz

there is not much difference.claisen schimdt is very similar to aldol condensation.the difference is that instead of both being aliphatic aldehydes in aldol one of which should have alpha hydrogen,in claisen schimdt we have one aromatic and one alliphatic aldehyde having alpha hydrogen.
