What are the products formed when ethyl benzoate reacts with PCl 5 ?
Engineering Entrance , Medical Entrance , NEET , JEE Main , AIIMS , JEE Main & Advanced , Chemistry , Organic Chemistry

I will prefer if the answer is given with reasons

PCl5 is a source of nucleophile Cl-. In a nucleophilic substitution the Cl- group will substitute C2H5O- group and we will get benzoyl chloride.
