What is meant by stereiochemistry of a reaction ??

means you express stereochemistry of product for example in sN2reaction optical inversion takes place so if there isD-ISOMER IN REACTANT IT CONVERTED INTO I- FORM.

so basically you express stereochemistry of product.for example when alkyne reacts with lindalar catalyst it always form cis alkene as exclusive product while when it undergo birch reduction it form trans product.
